Just had an ice storm and several inches of snow on top of what is already on the ground. The weather here doesn’t give a breather it just keeps coming from bad to worse. So one has made the very best of the situation and curled up with a warm blanket and read one’s lastest book” Homicide” by David Simon. What an interesting, enlightening, fastinating and in somewhat inspirational this particular book is. Finally Lenscrafters called on Tuesday, without one calling them before hand and said the glasses are ready to be picked up. Will go tomorrow. What an ordeal. As one had scripted previously it has been nearly four months since Sept. 7th. What can one say without being repetitive. While waiting one has accomplished many items to numerous to mention. Both Brittany and Santo have worked diligently to make things transpired in a persistant way without taking no for an answer. Have gotten a haircut for the second time, this being super short. Really like it. One’s dear friend Carol did it. So many thanks to her. One is trying to think in a positive vane for the future. One’s aim is to move for obvious reasons and get one’s own place. Many things to consider first though and doing it logically instead of emotionally is most important. Have to consider many factors. One is very grateful to have true friends and wonderful relatives in which to be connected. That is most vital anytime of year however especially now.

“Once Upon A Time”

December 19, 2010

Once upon a time many moons ago: just after the world became known to humans beings just one wonders what it was like, if lived then which was more than a thousands years ago. This was before God sent his son, Jesus on the earth. Some countries just as Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan one might say all the Near East countries have existed far longer and are at least 2500 years older than the western countries. Had read sometime ago that these countries have been through many more perils than the western countries and have survived with only determination. The USA is in comparison is a younger only a over 200 years old. So why does the USA want to fight in these ancient countries? Needless to say, it isn’t because they want to, it is more than that: it is because of the oil obviously. With having said that statement getting back to ones original thought. When Our Lord sent his son Jesus to the earth one is not questioning that. However only to a point of how Jesus felt only in human terms. Was there a rash of deviant behavior so much more than there is today? Just keep in mind that the laws hadn’t been transposed yet. So did these humans have a sense of debauchery for the reason that the law couldn’t touch them physically? Did these humans act and as their various actions committed to do what they like instead of what was correct? Just how did Jesus think and what was his reactions meaning only in human terms? Aside from all that was transcribed from one language to another and into English from the various forms of scriptures written by theologians, doctrine and known scholars were there a pieces of work unnoticed and still to this date unknown scripted then? Recently heard on a radio broadcast that a soldier who had finished two tours in Iraq was punched in the face while teaching at one of the schools in the US. And of course the soldier had the presence of mind not to react. The breakdown in the families is at a all time high with no end in sight. These children in these schools who play havoc on others have in some cases alcohol induced syndome resulting when the mother was pregnant and drinking large amounts of alcohol that the unborn baby develop a case of add or adhd. This isn’t by any means an isolated case. There are unfortunately a myriad of cases totaling over thousand and growing. These children are suspended and suspended over and over again until they reach twenty-one years of age. What is the answer? Do these children go to a special reform school especially created for these types of children? The whole situation has gotten far out of hand. How would Jesus have handles this in a means of only human terms? Ones option this time was to combine several thoughts at once. Is there any correlation between those ancient days and these present days? One might debate that. Let the world have peace and good will.

As a bountiful snowfall, with bone chilling temps have come upon the horison, it had lasted three entire days and seemed a lifetime. Presently the snow still lingers. It is just a week till the glorious day of Christmas as people say cheers to each other, whether the celebrations are of Eve, the Moslum holiday or the Jewish holiday, or other types. They in their own way are very festive. However if for some reason, someone is far from home which in the case of the young American who has been held hostage in Afghanistan for a total of eighteen months. There was a recent video of him on the net explaining of his plight, of the genuine love for his family, for his country and his plea for his release from captivity. There was a photo and an article of an elderly, spry couple taken in N.Z. This couple were held hostage for the duration of two years. They were held on a ship as their captives were pirates. With their release, several questions came to mind: was there a ransom involved as there was in the story of the unfortunate bomber who was later released for medical reasons and later of his demise resulting from his lengthy illness?! The UK admitted to paying the ransom. Along the same line of thinking, why do some countries resort to paying ransons and others don’t even consider it? Namely England did, which for obvious reasons was either correct or incorrect. And the US not considering it. One must take into account the grey areas. What is the stake in a life?

As the windows are caked with frost in the morning air: they are still shadows  that glisten presently with occasional water vapors that trickle down the edges from the top downward. These occurrences have been forthcoming each morning since the drastic fall in temperatures. It has surely been bleak and cold for the past few days. Still one has been waiting for Lenscrafters to phone. On the 7th it will be 3 months. One had chatted in a previous blog about the intricacies. In the meantime one has concentrated on other things. Among them, going to Half Price Books and Music and selling some cassettes of music and replacing them with discs. Had finished “Audition” by Barbara Walters which was well worth the time and then started another book ” The Brave” by Nicholas Evans. Surely this will be very grand as Evans is a favored writer. There were a couple of books in which one had wanted. The first ” Homicide” by David Simon, the second ” The life that inspired my left foot. Each of them were backordered at Borders. So one had to cancel them both. Got a gift card for the specified amount. Checked with Barnes and Noble and they didn’t carry it either. Then went to H.P. and purchase the first one mentioned for a very reasonable price. With the gift card posted a gift in which one had purchased in August at Borders. It was on sale. It was for Ian and family. Then went to Borders East and posted some other gifts for one’s sisters Vivian and Anne and one’s neices Jenny and Dara. Been wanting to revamp one’s room. So gave away the bookcase and have the books in cases. Gave away a dresser and have the clothes in cloth bags. It really save space and is convenient. Will give away a sofa and loveseat and sleep on an air mattress already purchased. Have decided to keep the table b/c can’t find a suitable one to handle all the technology. Must call the same movers, so they will have to take both doors off their hinges and replaced them in order to obtain the both items from the room. Am giving them again to St. Vincent DePaul Society. Want to purchase a rug and a microware yet haven’t found any yet. Time will tell. Sporadically been going for needed exercise also. Been viewing an occasional movie. Purchase and viewed one last evening. ” You Don’t Know Jack” with Al Pacino. The movie was fine and the acting was superb. Also been keeping up with friends/relatives on the net and by phone. Just recently had a very pleasant conversation with Shon, once by im on facebook and then by phone. How wonderfully blessed one is in various ways. Certain people are the key. One must always be in control.
