“What If”

September 15, 2011

With the glorious sunshine gracing the surface of the earth, it is a very pleasant time of year. One has a knack of endless analysing facts that have already come to fruition. This to oneself is an attribute to have. Having said that, one comes up with endless questions of what if. This is in reference to choices of others who have been before oneself. Namely how would history have been told to future generations if there could have been an alternative to World War One or World War Two? What would that option be? Knowing another country attack the U.S., could war be avoided? Would diplomatic expertise be put to the ultimate test? If that was so then Hitler would have come to power in Germany and not sided with Mussolini in Italy. Came, served out his term in office and was unnoticed. Therefore would there have been a Cold War? East and West Berlin would have remained whole and not divided. Would Six Thousand lives of Jewish people been saved? Would there never have been Japanese interment camps in the U.S? Could the U.S. have avoided the Korean War., where to this day the DMZ is still parolled on a daily basis? Look as to the countless American lives that could have been saved. Could some amount of diplomacy be enacted to avoid the Vietnam War? Look again at the numerous lives of Americans that could have been saved. At this very moment the U.S. is still in Iraq. Afghanistan is still a troubling spot as the U.S. rages on in that distant war. Could these two have been avoided in some way. If recruiters of the armed forces know of a song sung by Pearl Jam and lyrics scripted by Bob Dylan called ” Masters Of War” and had it posted in their various offices throughout the U.S. and took the song to heart literally: these recruiters would change their tune in a second.

“Still”

September 9, 2011

While this particular area of the country is relaxing in seasonable degrees of warmth and people are pressing on with a sense of normality in their daily lives: one part isn’t as these enduring, steadfast humans are having the time of their lives in mere survival. The Susquehanna River is over reaching its banks and is therefore coming up on the roadways, houses, farms and making a mockery of the communities of Wilkes-Barre and adjacent towns uninhabitable soon enough. The persons in Binghamton, Ithaca, Syracuse, Utica in upstate New York are in the same boat as the people in Pennsylvania. As much as these communities are helping themselves by daily sandbagging it is a momumental task. These floods are as a result of hurricane Irene and still the lands are in havoc with mud and destructive unhealthy waters surrounding their each and every property as the raw sewage becomes a real problem that is unimaginable in the way of coping. However these people who are faced with this, have an inner strength and built in pride and therefore will come through with flying colours.

“Part Two The Book”

September 7, 2011

What a perfect day thusfar with the sun shining down upon the earth’s surface and the cool breezes whistling gently it seems like a day to accomplish what needs to be done. Had just finished an awe inspiring book yesterday” The Kennedy Detail” What a fine wonderful book it is! It is scripted as history is taken recorded with a genuine true events that one feels that it is in the midst of happening again with clarity feelings of those who were within those unconscionable uncomfortable preposterous conditions of that particular time that brought those who were directly and in fact indirectly in a downward spiral to the core. In fact while one was reading it and therefore reliving the events one had to stop and take several breaks just to get away from it a moment or so it was that well versed with many emotional segments throughout the entire contents. One couldn’t just read it and not feel attachment for those whose lives were on the line on a minute to minute basis. These people literally lived and breathe their work every waking hour and when they slept which was seldom they would have nightmares as a result of what they saw and ultimately felt. Their lives were constantly turned upside down inside out and backwards as a result of their type of work. They were each professionals through and through had the confidentiality which was a must, couldn’t even discuss anything related to their jobs to their closest relatives including of course family. They literally had to hold what they saw on a daily basis inside and hoped they wouldn’t explode in the meantime. They were ticking bombs. They each loved what they did for a living and wouldn’t have chosen anything other career. It was human heartwrenching for their own families to not to have known their innermost thoughts of the people they had admired most in the world and chosen to live out their lives with them always knowing that these professionals couldn’t utter word one and if they did they would have broken their code of silence. These professionals also had code names for all the places and members involved. It was for their safety and well as for their own. It was 50 years in the content of this book and besides the actual events it also brings the reader closer to the reality of how technology has advanced over the years. It is a most recommended book for all regardless of one’s personal flavour. One had a time in obtaining this book and it was well worth the wait in gold.

“Part One, The Eye”

September 3, 2011

It is nearly ten in the evening and one has been up since six this morning. One for some reason is not fatigued as yet. Have had an active day thusfar, very progressive too. Besides just the regular routine normally done, one had gone swimming again today as Labor Day draws near and the pool will be closed for another season. Really enjoy the activity as it is very relaxing to oneself as one will go under the water and imagine oneself scuba- diving. Now imagine that! This particular title doesn’t pertain to a sense rather it pertains to the eye of a hurricane which is the most dangerous of all. Irene came suddenly with enough force toward the eastern seaboard to disrupt many people’s lives and cause much havoc to property and believe it or not it is at this very moment still is troubling  to many as rivers are still above their banks in N.J. Pa.Vt. and upper NY State. In fact the town of Plattsville was nearly erased from extinction. My second cousin who lived in Plattsville is now in Orange County, one spoke to her mother, Maggie to see where Sara was. In fact one called Maggie in NYC and asked her where her daughter was. One was that determined to know the whereabouts of Sara. She is Tim’s daughter and being that one was very close to Tim, the situation became very personal to oneself. This is the first time that the NY subway system was shutdown. Imagine all the working cables had to be down without getting anyone injured in the process. Irene before it was over made three landfulls. Unimaginable but done nonetheless. There are 50 million persons living on the east coast. This goes from Fla to Me. At least seven states called for warnings in preparation of the storm. This storm was only a Cat. One. Each governour did their level best to give persons prior notice soon in advance. One must commend each and everyone of them regardless of party affiliation. At the beginning of the storm, one couldn’t sleep the night before for one was thinking of one first cousin Mike. So one called him and he fortunately was fine, spoke to his wife Susan too. Was so grateful that they were well. Phone Ian and he was fine. Phoned one’s daughter- law’s mother and grateful also that Wanda was well too. By doing those courtesies one felt peace of mind. It really didn’t take any time at all to achieve this too.
